Tignes, February 2025: A Week on the Race Terrain
Six days at Tignes in February 2025: the Grande Motte, the race training area, and how the mountain skis at mid-season.
On-mountain experience, not hotel reviews.
A trip report is not a hotel review. It is a record of what was actually skied, what worked, what did not, and what the writer would do differently next time. The resort coverage on this site tells you what a resort is structurally like. The trip reports tell you what a week there actually felt like, from the perspective of a skier who went with specific goals and measured the trip against them.
The format is honest evaluation rather than glossy narrative. Snow conditions across the week. Terrain actually skied versus planned. What the technical progression looked like on real pistes, with real weather, after real fatigue. Gear that performed and gear that did not. Things that went wrong that somebody else can avoid. The aim is that a reader planning a similar trip comes away knowing what to expect, rather than what the resort's marketing wants them to expect.
If you have had a week in the Alps that taught you something worth writing about, we are interested in publishing it. Trip reports from British skiers are the most useful source of information other British skiers have, and there are not enough of them online. Get in touch with the editors if you have a report in you: contact the team.
